Summer 08
Fishing Report
Spring has proved to be productive with several fish in the 5 to 8 pound
range being caught. North Lake has been going off and the anglers have
been reaping the rewards. At least two of the top four places in the
last three tourneys have come out of the Overton arm. It is not that
unusual for this time of the year although the weights have been
significantly higher than years past.
Please don't think I forgot about the diehard Boulder Basin gang. Thier
sacks have been tremendous as well. Congrats to Ken Cliadakis for
hanging the fish of a lifetime (in July anyway) this tourney. Rarely
are fish over 10 lbs caught this time of year,so to see a 15.1 in
competition no less is, to me a good sign. I believe the average fish
weight might just be going up.
Often I imagine what my life might be like without two great Lakes 30
miles from my home. Lake Mead is one of the best fisheries in the lower
48. We should treat her right and be greatful to have her in the middle
of the Mojave Desert.
The coming months will undoubtedly be epic and truly exciting to see.
Explore the deep water for those elusive "Whoppers" and eventually your
hard work will be rewarded. There are 30's, 40's, 50's and even 60's
just waiting to caught this summer. Every year someone gets one by
accident or luck. Go find em',because they are out there.
Fish hard, stay hydrated, and the rewards will come to those who persist.

Tournament Director
