Winter 08
Fishing Report
Well Fall is over and Winter is here. Now it is time to break out the big
guns. The December tourney produced some great fish despite the weather
which was nasty to say the least. Jack hauled in a 23.8 lb hog and got
big fish and the win for his fine effort.
Trout plants are in new areas this year so pleasecheck NDOW's web site for
current stocking schedules. Friday the 26th was the best day of December
fishing I have ever seen on the Lake. Don Reibe and crew hooked into and
landed a 40lb Striper as well as a 15. As far as I know, 5 fish over 20lbs
were caught that day.
For you shore fisherman, now is your time to shine on the banks of these
stock sites. Dave Duncan, one of the best(liars)fisherman I know has
dominated the winter tournaments throughout the years, yet not many people
follow his lead and fish the shorelines.
Be safe out there and please practice CPR(catch, photograph, and release)on
these big fish when you can. By the way, the large Ol'e Henry and 9" A.C.
are in my opinion the best lures forenticing these monsters into striking.
Fish hard and stay warm. Good things come to those who work hard at what
they desire in life.
Tony Resma,
Tournament Director
